Hi, I'm Tovah Petra and I am a Trauma-Informed Sex and Intimacy Coach.
In my practice I use a combination of focused conversation, experiential, and somatic methods in order to create a safe space, where I help clients explore authentic connections and practice tools to help them deepen intimacy and have fulfilling relationships.

Tovah Petra's approach is holistic, recognizing that true progress stems from addressing both the mind and body. Tovah guides individuals and couples globally on their journey towards deeply fulfilling relationships and ecstatic sex. Tovah’s own experiences with challenging and traumatic life events have shaped her empathetic and non-judgmental approach, as she understands that unprocessed memories, energies and emotions get trapped into our bodies. She wholeheartedly believes in the healing power of being seen and accepted unconditionally.
Tovah creates a safe and collaborative space, allowing you to freely explore, while feeling understood and supported in your journey. She believes the parts of ourselves we fear the most can hold the greatest power and potential. With empathy and attunement, she guides you through the territory of shame, celebrating and embracing suppressed aspects of yourself. She will help you create a vision for your life beyond the trauma of your past, and to create and achieve tangible goals to help you move towards this vision you have you have for your intimate self, your professional ventures, and your relationships.
She will support you in tapping into your own inner power to unfold, accept, and integrate all parts of yourself, while helping to shape you into the most authentic and erotic version of yourself. To further embrace your truest self, Tovah will equip you with the tools of intimacy for genuine connection, increased joy, and heightened pleasure in your relationships with yourself and others.
Tovah is a trained Somatica® Method Sex & Relationship Coach (Somatica® Institute, San Francisco) and holds a Masters degree in Human Development with an emphasis on Social Change. Her knowledge of Human Development combined with her experience to hold sacred space influences her unique and holistic take on the Somatica® Method. Tovah particularly enjoys working with adult attachment, relational trauma, self-esteem - supporting individuals and couples in having fulfilling relationships that fuel the rest of their lives. Offering courage, compassion, and guidance as they embrace their authentic selves and cultivate self-love, more fulfilling relationships, and greater embodied power.
In order to have successful relationships, it is essential that you have the interpersonal skills around
intimacy and touch to create lasting connections in your life. This is where I may be able to help
you practice some of the tools you need to achieve your relationship goals.
Using a 'relationship lab' technique, I work with individuals to practice real-life experiences
within the safety and boundaries of the Somatica® Method. While there can be some touch
included to help clients gain practical skills, the Somatica® Method is a fully legal, clothes-on method.
Somatic (body-based) coaching differs from other therapy in that it emphasizes your connection to your body. It also emphasizes the importance of experiences (as opposed to thoughts) as the central vehicle towards deeper freedom and choice. During our work together, there will be times when I invite you to experiment with yourself, and with me around emotions, touch, intimacy, and connection. All of these experiments are in service of you having a deeper understanding of your own internal process.
Touch is only used with your permission and you have the right to stop or change AT ANY TIME, for any reason, any touch or experience in which we are engaging. I will respond to your request respectfully and without question. While the focus of our work together is the improvement of your sexual and relational lives, there may be other areas of your life (i.e. work, school, family history, etc.), which inform your sexual and relational well-being so we may need to discuss these and other realms in order to help you move through relationship and intimacy blocks.

Somatic sexology can work especially well when physical touch is a large roadblock to sexual well-being: overcoming sexual trauma, disability, impotence, body shame, and situations where it feels like your body is working against you.
